Isle of Wight Festival Of The Mind 7/10

First Isle Of Wight Festival Of The Mind

The British Medical Association Award Winning Authors Dr Fiona Kennedy and Dr David Pearson will be signing copies of their book at the first Isle of Wight Festival Of The Mind. Fiona will also run a workshop called Get Your Life Back: Be Clear About What Matters To You and Take Steps Towards It, based on the book.

The IOW Festival of the Mind is a FREE event –  a celebration of all things that help to make us feel happy and well.
The aim of this event is to bring people together to talk about what makes them feel happy, to try out different activities for free and, maybe …  to discover a new sense of wellbeing and happiness.

The Festival Of The Mind will be full of activities for wellbeing for all.
There will also be free bookable workshops on Building Confidence and self-esteem; De-cluttering your life; Neurolinguistic Processing; Havening; yoga and meditation; dance chillax; gong bath; tai-chi; gardening; breadmaking and singing for wellbeing. If you turn up on the day there will be additional activities to try such as dancing, improvised theatre games, communal art activities, crafts and the Human Library.
If you are interested in your own and others’ mental and physical health come along to this day of fun and friendship.

“We always intended to make this first Festival of the Mind a small one and have been delighted by the positive response and the generosity of people coming forward to offer their time for free. We have already secured a second venue and are now having to turn people away who want to offer a free workshop. We really hope that people will come to the festival and try something new.
If this year is a success, I would love to expand the event to include activities for younger people and to invite more speakers to cover a wider range of issues that affect our mental health and wellbeing” Sandy Ciccognani, Member of the Mental Health Co-operative/ Joint founder of the event

“Many thanks to Ryde Town Council for enabling us to get this off the ground.”
